Goodness, now that I think about it, I've been quite a few places. Nothing too exotic, mind you. But I have been to a LOT of random places. Why? Because of running. When in season we travel almost every weekend. This coming weekend will be my first weekend off of racing in a month. I'm SO happy for some R&R :) This past weekend we were able to go to New York, New York for a race at the Armory (a.k.a. a sweet track and facility devoted JUST for track and field. so cool :) ) We unfortunately don't really get to explore many of the places we travel because we are there to race. Luckily, we had a little extra time on our hands this trip and got to check a few things out. Here are a few (very few) pictures of what we did...
Sorry they are such bad quality. You now know why Nate is the photographer in our home...

Getting on the bus from the airport taking us to the Hotel. Me and Anna (and Brandy creepin in the background) |

It had already been a long day... had to wake up at 5:00 a.m..... |

Our first view of NY! On the bus en route to the Hilton. |

The Hilton lobby... sorry it's crooked.... |

In Central Park on our pre-race run :) |

The sweet ballroom we stumbled upon in our hotel. |

M&M WORLD! My heaven on earth! |
 |
SO pumped. Have I mentioned I looooove M&M's? :) |
I have another picture of my sister, Heidi's, DMR record which she still holds at the Armory! Yeah, she's fast and big time :) I'll work on putting that up once my internets are working better.
UPDATE: Here are the pictures of Heidi's National Record!
 |
I believe she ran the 1200 in this... correct me if I'm wrong. |
 |
The whole record wall! Nate had the 4xMile record until just last year I think. So big time :) |
All-in-all it was a way fun trip :) New York is one of a kind and somewhere you have to see for yourself. But, I don't think I'll ever want to live there. I'd take a real jungle over a concrete one any day :)
P.S. if any of you are interested, my race went... okay. Nothing amazing. I ran two seconds faster than I had the previous week (aka I ran 18:48 for the 5k). I have a LOT more in me though... stay tuned for some faster times in the future... I'm working hard and things are going to all come together. soon.
:)
