Nate left me. And other things.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. This is how I currently feel about things. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Wanna know why?

Nate just left me.

Things cost money.

I don't think I got the job I interviewed for on Saturday.

Geez louise.

Things aren't really bad though :)  I just like to throw pity parties for myself sometimes.  Like right now.  Nate just left me to go down to Cedar City.  I am staying up here another week because 2 of my friends are getting married and I'm throwing my friend a baby shower.  And I need to finish packing up all of our stuff because we didn't have time to get it all together before we left to Califorina last week.

Speaking of California... it was SO fun!  Minus the part that Nate only stayed till Wednesday and then had to fly back to Cedar City to work. Lame.  But it was so great hanging out on the beach, going to sea world, visiting with my Mom's family (it was a Dotter Reunion), jet skiing in the waves, bonfires on the beach, and just good ol' soakin' up the sun fun.  Also, I think I earned a tan that is darker than I have been in a few years.  I can never complain about that :)

Before we left to California, we put on our race, Tour De Run!!!!!  I am SO happy to say that it went really well :)  There were, of course, LOTS of little bumps and things that we need to do differently next year, but overall, it was a success!  We are already so excited for next year!  To learn more about the race, visit our website HERE.  It has all the results and what the race was all about.  It was a big learning experience this year, and I'll tell you, A LOT of work.  Nate and I were exhausted after two days of directing a race.  But it really was so sweet and we are so grateful that everything turned out so well!

On the way home from California I had was dropped off in Cedar City while my family continued home because I had a job interview!  It was for a guy who owns Canyons and Crags...which is a canyoneering store in Cedar.  He was in need of s personal assistant/store manager.  The store is only open one day a week and is primary online, so I would have very flexible hours.  It sounded like a fun job...unfortunately, however, he said he would call me and tell me if I got the job today.  It is currently 5:17 pm and I still haven't heard from him....doesn't look like I got it :(  bummer.  oh well though.  Still have to be patient I guess.

Speaking of jobs though.. I finally decided to take the risk and start the licensing process to become a high school teacher!  It is a big risk because you have to $200 dollars just to get your application in, and to finish the licensing procedure, you have to GET HIRED and then pay $400 dollars (hence why I'm bummed that things cost so much money).  I've been looking at the jobs and there aren't a ton out there.  But, I have been thinking lots about what I want to do for a career and what I should pursue and I keep coming back to teaching.  It might be that I just like to ramble...but I really think that being a teacher would be very fulfilling.  Not to mention that possibility that I might get to help coach track and cross country too!  I would love that.  So keep those fingers crossed that a teaching position come avaliable and that I can get hired soon!  Hopefully this is the right path for me!

Last thing,  I am going to be blogging more about my training and the such.  I am most likely going to do a MARATHON in the fall/winter. oh heavens.  So I will dedicate a chunk of this blog to the training woes of that.  Also, you will keep getting random vents, updates of our lives, and the such.

SO- to update y'all on my training so far... I have just been doing easy summer miles.  The past few weeks I have been around 50-60 miles per week.  I have been trying to listen to my body and really not over due it.  I have been feeling so stressed lots on my mind lately so usually all I feel like doing while running is plopping around.  It has been so good for me though.  I have been going out on runs, no watch, ipod, or even real goal in destination or amount of miles.  I have been going out just to cover ground with my feet, feel the sun on my shoulders, and think and think and think.  Of course, occasionally I get feelin' real good and pick up the pace and get a good solid run in, but the majority of the time, I have been running, just for the love of running.  Training will definitely get more serious in the next week or so, but for now, I have built up my love of feeling the ground beneath my feet and the ache of body as it covers miles and miles.  Bring on the Trials of Miles and Miles of Trials (I just got done re-reading "Once a Runner" if you haven't read it, GO READ IT NOW! it is by FAR the best book on running out there. It describes perfectly what it like to be a competitive runner).

Well, that's it for now.  I'll get pictures up soon of our adventures of late (they are all on my parent's camera).

P.S. Side note of training - don't run 10.64 miles, some of which up a freakin' mountain, when you feel sick.  Yesterday I definitely was not smart and overdid it when I knew I wasn't feeling well.  I just couldn't resist running with my sister and Nate.  I definitely paid for it last night and this morning... I have been running a fever and body aches along with the usual cold symptoms.  Uhhh....oh well. You live and you learn!  Hopefully I'm feeling good enough to run tomorrow :)
